Thursday, September 24th, 2009I am getting a loan to buy a house. Now, I can quite comfortably pay property taxes upfront. Is there any benefit to having the bank roll it into my mortgage? Also, the insurance that the lender wants to sell me to add on to the mortgage seems like a scam (the one that pays off the mortgage in case of death of any of the buyers)- Apparently it is illegal in most provinces in Canada- Should I just get life insurance seperately
My mortgage loan (a va loan) has been in underwriting for 11 working days. Is this too long?
Saturday, August 29th, 2009My wife and I were told our package went to underwriting on May 12. How long should this process take? We have been told over and over it is a "good" file and should close "early". Our original scheduled date was today, 5/27/08. Not only are we not closing early, we still have not got a "clear to close". Getting answers from the company is like pulling teeth!!! Any advice?
